At the end of January to the end of February, I will get some black ink so that I complete my drawings - the ones that I have been working on. The subjects are not 'pretty' but they do reflect what I experienced and thought. At that point, I will tweet an update! - Jan 2017
I have started sketches for my colouring book as I indicated before. I managed It's a lot of work, but I managed..I got my ink too but didn't always like the 'feel' of it. Time is my concern. although so many drawings are ready - they need scanning, editing and other work to be print ready. It is a little difficult when one is vulnerable and trying to climb out of a situation to make something work within a specific time frame. It reminds me a bit of Tom Hanks in the movie "Cast Away" - the part where he tries to swim past 'those waves,' without success (until the end of course). The good thing though is that time frame always helps, doesn't it? You still have to push forward!
I am not saying any of this because I feel overly negatively about it. I am just communicating what is realistically taking place with timelines in addition to the constant barrage of "stuff," that life can throw at those who are already weakened by circumstances. Art-making or should I say art-finishing take time. The fact is I have no help and no money to get help - so instead of throwing a fit, I am looking to have this out by June.
The book, 'Psyched Out,' will have somewhere between 15 - 20 sketches. And yes, this will not be for everyone - consider yourself warned. These sketches won't be "neatly executed" because emotions are not often "neatly executed." They will be black and white of course, allowing the colour pencil 'experimenter' to do what they wish. They are literally hand drawn sketches for experimentation - fill in and / or omit ... or even add what you wish to those spaces you think should be filled with decoration or texture.
Like typical colouring books - some drawings will have more space in comparison to others.
Techniques to employ might include solid colour or line textures of all kinds (even colours), depending what makes you happy! Play. Experiment.
Although, I hoped to have the sketches done by March. I have so much to do on my own with many (still unresolved) issues - all 'thieves of time.'
Again, I will keep you updated.
